ADL Director Declares War on Freedom of Speech

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

The Anti-Defamation League Director for the Plains States, Alan Potash, has just declared war against our First Amendment right to freedom of speech. Potash made the following statement, which was published in the May 26 edition of The Omaha World Herald:

“Dangers of hate,” was right to point out that freedom of speech does not extend to racist groups, nor give their supporters the right to threaten and intimidate others or commit acts of violence.

But when bigots step over the line, it is vital that law enforcement and the courts have the proper tools to respond effectively.

This is why Congress should move expeditiously to approve the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevent Act – legislation that would add protection for all citizens from violent acts of intolerance.

The bill, which was approved in the House last month, would equip local law enforcement officials with tools, training and resources to investigate and prosecute bias-motivated crimes.

Like acts of terrorism, hate crimes can hurt more than the individual victim.  They can instill fear and insecurity within an entire community.

The Hate Crimes Prevention Act recently passed the Congress and is now on its way to the Senate, where it is likely to pass and signed by President Obama. The Anti-Defamation League has been at the forefront of  promoting hate crime legislation, and openly advocates its model anti-hate law.  In 1988 the ADL gave out an award to law student Joseph Ribikoff for writing a proposed hate crime bill that would criminalize hate speech against gays and minorities.

Countdown to Absurdity: Obama’s Rise and the Market’s Fall

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

By FAIRFIELD “PINPOINT” EDWARDS

An intriguing timeline plotting the intersection of Obama’s rise and the market’s fall.

#10. Dateline October 11, 2007. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was at its 52 week high, closing at 14,198.10. Even Bill Clinton himself would have envied this figure, and 15,000 seemed within reach. Perhaps not coincidentally, this was the heyday of the other Clinton’s run for the White House. Supposedly a fait accompli in the making, the nation was to hear womanly yet faintly beastly roar as she crushed her male competition on both sides of the aisle. Wall Street seemed to be sensing a return to the go-go Nineties, despite the fact that Al Gore wouldn’t have been around to invent the Internet for a second time.

Secular Liberalism and the Borg

borg

By the Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

U.S. and EU Top Offenders

Liberalism is having its day on a global scale. The United States is only a notch behind Europe in becoming the second great home for secular liberalism’s gray soup where all absolutism is dissolved into a giant pot of tolerance and diversity. It promises to feed the world, but it is unpalatable under the strong light of truth.

When many ideas are allowed to co-exist in a democracy where the tolerance is generated by common respect, miracles can take place. When different ideas are quickly stirred and mixed together by the force of law only anger, confusion, contradiction and despair result.

Ten of the most outrageous and absurd ways to save a buck in
this economy, featuring the sardonic humor only All Right Magazine can provide.

10. Date Night.
While dining out, order a sirloin instead of a New York strip
steak.  And if you’re feeling lucky, ask
the waitress if there is a discount for ordering your steak rare.  Be sure to inform her that she will be
saving energy for her employers, saving you money and helping the environment
all at the same time.  If she gives you
a dirty look, just save money anyway by not leaving a tip.

The Unaccepted Slavery Apology

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

By LARRY WILKE

2008-08-07

I received a comment from my friend Richard who said that he was “sick to death of Congress apologizing for things that happened generations ago” and that he hopes to see a better world for his grandchildren.  The only way to ensure the likelihood of the former coming to fruition would be to forcibly medicate our spineless office holders in the hopes of eliminating “obsequious grandstanding” as a Pavlovian political reflex.  In the interim, lets take a look at this “apology” thing and let us try to bring it into the world of the rational, and let’s take a peek into a few things that Congress should really apologize for.

A Conversation with IL Senate Candidate Dr. Steve Sauerberg

An ALL RIGHT MAGAZINE Exclusive Interview

2008-03-01

ALL RIGHT MAGAZINE: First of all, you are a doctor by trade,
which is refreshing. If elected you will be part of an increasing trend,
following in the footsteps of Ernie Fletcher, Bill Frist, Ron Paul, and even
Howard Dean. Why should voters send a
doctor to Washington to do a
lawyer’s job?

DR. STEVE SAUERBERG: It’s not a lawyer’s job. In countries across the world there are
people from a variety of backgrounds participating in politics. Only in America
is the legislative branch represented so exclusively by one profession. Our elected leaders should be chosen based on
their ability to solve the challenges that face our nation. Doctors are extremely well-suited for this
job because their success is directly related to how well they serve others. America
is a diverse nation, and I believe its leaders should reflect that.

#10. Kick Him When
He’s Down.
Douglas Bruce (R) of Colorado
has been censured by his fellow state legislators for kicking a photographer
who took his picture. It was the first
such legislative reprimand in Colorado
history. Bruce, however, claims that it
was just a “nudge.” While there is some
absurdity here, the real outrage is that his colleagues refused to put Bruce’s
statement into the public record, so it was injury upon insult – first censured
and then censored.
