To say that climbing on a bus with fifty strangers to join a caravan of hundreds of other buses jostling our way up the yellow-brick road to Oz put this Historian out of his comfort zone would not be an understatement; it would be a gross understatement. However, having fallen through the rabbit hole in the fifties and taken the red pill in the sixties, the slow motion train wreck that is the Progressive’s deconstruction of traditional America combined with the light speed transformation of our beloved Republic as a European-style nanny-state since the November Revolution of 08 compelled me to go. Stoked by daily doses of Radio-free Glenn and incited by the daily drip-drip-drip of the government take-overs and serial bail-outs the anticipation has built for months.
Now that the GREAT EVENT is over we have to ask ourselves, “What did we go to Washington to see?”

Last week a poll indicated that nearly a fifth of Americans think President Obama is a Muslim. Only about a third believe he is a Christian. As an aside, I find it interesting that every mainstream media story I have read specifically points out that “20% WRONGLY believe President Obama is a Muslim”. The emphasis is mine.
With a sigh, I’m going to wade into the discussion with reticence. I’ve been involved privately in this discussion with people on both sides of the issue. I don’t personally believe he really believes in either the Christian or the Muslim faith.
There are a lot of factors that can explain the confusion among the public. We are used to our Christian presidents attending church and taking part in meetings of faith. His apparent deference to Muslims also makes people think he has sympathies toward the Islamic beliefs. I personally think Obama is an atheist, which in America is more dangerous politically than being a Muslim.

All Points Bulletin! A political suicide bomber is on the loose, last seen on vacation, but known to frequent states like Nevada. All Democrats are advised to distance themselves, as he is extreme and dangerous.

Only a few short months after snubbing the National Day of Prayer President Obama continued his war on American sensibilities at a meeting honoring the close of the religious observance of Ramadan.
Celebrating at a dinner in the White House on Friday August 13, Obama followed the meeting with a statement that Muslims had a right to build a mosque even in Lower Manhattan. Polls taken across the nation indicate that very few Americans are in agreement with his assertions.
On the evening of July 27, 2010, Helen Friedman, took to a podium in a New York community board meeting and declared that building the Mosque at Ground Zero was the equivalent of America receiving a Trojan Horse from the Muslims. Such sentiment reflects the feelings of most 9/11 families of victims lost to the deliberate destruction of the Trade Towers done by Muslim radicals.
Following that event Canadian author Farzana Hassan appeared on the O’Reilly Factor, Friday, August 13, and said that the mosque was indeed a Trojan Horse because there would be no way of knowing just what kind of things would be allowed to take place inside the environs of the proposed Mosque.

People learn by moving from the known to the unknown. An analogy inherently proposes the idea that if things agree in some respect they probably agree in others. Secular prophecy uses knowledge of the past and the present to predict the future. The past is the womb of the present and the present is the history of the future. As the past may be interpreted and the present may be misunderstood the future is never certain. Platitudes may outline the shape of something, but they can never define anything.
If Michelle is like Marie Antoinette to whom shall we compare Barack? The thought that he’s Louis XVI is unthinkable. George III is too easy. All of the megalomaniacs or despots of the twentieth century would be politically incorrect in the extreme. Some would be considered too far left and some too far right though in reality the extreme on both sides meet at the intersection of totalitarianism and brutality. Since he rode a wave of secular messianic fever into power perhaps an appropriate paraphrase would be, “Who do men say that he is?”

The progressive panic is reaching a fever pitch and try as they might to put on a “happy face” for their minions in the liberal media, the ruse isn’t playing well anywhere else. So desperate are the forlorn fascists that any minute now they will trot out Ol’ Whitey, otherwise known as the “insignificant other” in the Rodham household, in order to rouse the masses.
This seems perfectly logical (if logic and the liberal mind ever meet, scratch that, if there is such a thing as the liberal mind.) as Obama is STILL using the Bolshevik bugaboo of “Bush” to try to explain away his failures. The statute of limitations on that howler was more than used up over eighteen months ago to those with an IQ above room temperature.

It is clear that a major shift has occurred in the American way of life in the last two years. For over 230 years we were involved in the question of how we could best make our mark in the world. Much more than mere foreign policy we had to “let our light” shine because the entire world was watching.
Few Americans in today’s political and moral climate have any doubt that our light has seriously dimmed. At no time in our history more than now does it appear that we have brought on an administration that seems to think that it has been given a mandate to make its mark on America. More than a “change” we can believe in, this has become a change we can hardly endure.

In what might be called a “scientific breakthrough,” Australian scientists have discovered that “sea sponges share almost 70 percent of human genes.” (“Scientists find sea sponges share human genes” Breitbart) I’ve known for decades that sponges actually share 100 percent of their genes with the liberal base, which is made up wholly of sponges and moochers.
On a corollary note, congratulations are in order for the creased collectivist, (yes her face and neck are actually starting to resemble a plate of spaghetti) Nancy Pelosi. She has done such a magnificent job of “draining the swamp” in Washington that she has managed to then expose liberals like Rangel and Waters who have existed at the bottom of the liberal “swamp” for far too long.

Falling like the staccato drumbeat of a pouring rain, the day-by-day assault by the ruling Progressives on the traditions and sensibilities of America has the no-longer-silent majority reeling. We were warned. The watchmen on the walls Buchanan, Limbaugh, Beck and others told us what was coming. They tried to alert those willing to vote for an untried community organizer because they wanted change that the change would change once the organizer got organized, so none of these transformative changes should surprise anyone. Obama the candidate told us what Obama the president would do. He said he wanted to be a transformative president. He told us his administration would be all about fundamentally transforming America. But it seems not many of the people who hoped for change were listening except to the hope and change part.

Duverger’s Law is often cited by conservative groups as a justification for not endorsing third-party and independent candidates who have successfully passed their strict vetting process. It is the basis of the argument that third party and independent candidates split the conservative vote and allow liberals to win, and therefore there should only be two parties so forces with similar philosophies can combine to defeat the “enemy.” This misunderstanding of the sociological phenomena inherent in various electoral systems, as observed by French sociologist Maurice Duverger, has led to the deterioration of the original Constitutional Republic. Understanding this process and understanding the characteristics of the original electoral system of the United States can help us restore a government where the people, not parties, have the final say in governing themselves.
