Obama has appointed Sonia Sotomayor to fill the vacancy left by Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court. Obama stated earlier that he wanted either a women or Latino on the Supreme Court. Currently there is only one female, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and there has never been a Latino member of the Court, making Sotomayor the first Latino nominee. There has been a lot of debate over whether Obama chose Sotomayor primarily because of her gender and ethnicity.

Resurrection of the 10th Amendment Needed

It’s hard to be a conservative when there’s little left to conserve.  The increasing pace of America’s progression from free markets to a command economy has reached such a pace and become so obvious the Russian Prime Minister used his spotlight time at the World Economic Forum to warn America not to follow the socialist path.  Now the Russian newspaper Pravda, once the leading communist voice on earth published an article entitled, “American capitalism gone with a whimper.”  People around the world can see the individual decisions of producers and consumers are being replaced by the form letters of a faceless central-planning bureaucracy even if the Obama boosters still haven’t swallowed the red pill and watched the matrix dissolve.

Think back not so many months ago to the general election and inauguration.  One of the big worries was that some crazed right-wing loon was going to go off half-cocked (thanks to that pesky Second Amendment) and make President Obama fall in line with Lincoln, Garfield, and Kennedy.  But those people never stopped to consider the other important line that would prevent such a tragedy from ever taking place.

Just days ago, stealth liberal David Souter has decided to hang up his communist cloak in order for the King of the Universe to appoint another uber-liberal who will use judicial activism to further erode both the Constitution and the nation under the humorous banner of “judicial independence.” It will be hard to find another liberal who will remain as dedicated to the hammer and sickle party as Souter was, but Obama and his crew of collectivist cronies will certainly give it the “old college try.”

Press Secretary/liberal town crier Robert Gibbs and his supervisor used an “impromptu press briefing” (AKA: dissemination of the socialist “squawking points”) to announce the retirement of the asinine adjudicator. It seems that Gibbs wasn’t on target with the Democratic diversionary techniques because the brown Bolshevik felt the need to step in and warm himself within the sanctimonious glow of the klieg lights and the glare of the teleprompters.
