No more frivolity and jokes. It’s time for a Frank conversation about gay marriage — very, very Frank.

Will America reject state-run everything in November? State-run equals the ideology of Democrats, Liberals, and Marxists.Consider Camden New Jersey, a long-time Democrat stronghold. It has the dubious honor of being one of the poorest cities in America.
According to a Bloomberg Businessweek article “Camden’s Mayor Cuts Spending in Poorest U.S. City” (http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-08-11/camden-s-mayor-cuts-spending-in-poorest-u-s-city.html), dated August 11, 2010 the city has tons of problems. They have a $28 million shortfall this budget year. Their median family income is $24,283, which is the lowest in the nation. That will be tough to make up in property tax increases. Oh yea, buildings are in decay and large numbers of houses are boarded up, vacant. Times are definitely tough.

War is a horrific business. I don’t like it; neither do I wish to have it forced upon us. Nevertheless, the U.S. is fighting a war in Afghanistan, and Israel prepares for the next round with Hamas, Hezbollah and their puppet master—Iran. The Islamic enemy, in both cases, is playing by their own barbaric rules—unrecognized by the Geneva Convention or by any civilized society, but advocated in the Qur’an. They care about human life in so far as we fret about the next mosquito’s; they behead their POWs, enslave their women, terrorize their own people, their own children, abuse them, use them as body armor. All because both U.S. and Israel made it clear—human shields are the most effective defense for safeguarding the Shahid and the Mujahidin.

As a Professor of History I can understand why most people dismiss History as boring. It is usually presented as a static jumble of dates, names and events that must be memorized, regurgitated and with luck forgotten. I have often marveled at the ability of students who can tell me how many points their favorite athlete scored in a mid-season game ten years ago or how many horsepower their favorite driver had under the hood five seasons back can’t seem to remember the relationship or the difference between the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution.
Instead of this rigid collection of repetitious minutia, History is a dynamic flow of reality that changes every day. Not only is there more of it every day, thus changed by addition, it is also open to new interpretation and comprehension every day, thus changing by multiplication and division.
In Patrick J. Buchanan’s ground breaking book Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War the author presents the case that the Second World War was not precipitated by Germany’s attack upon Poland it was instead precipitated by the worthless guarantee given by Britain and France to an authoritarian Poland, which prevented it from avoiding war by returning the German city of Danzig to Germany. A move even Neville Chamberlain thought would be fair. Then when what would have been the fourth partition of Poland between Germany and the Soviet Union did occur it is forgotten by all that it was France and Britain that declared war on Germany not the reverse. No matter whether you agree or disagree with this presentation of the same facts presented in opposite order as in American History classes or not, anyone would admit at least it made you think.

I went today to the home of a small Phoenix family, a mother, father, and two sweet, wonderful little girls. I was there to see if I could help them. I was surprised at what I found. Maybe it would be better to say I was shocked and disheartened at what I found. This family is living on welfare. And it’s not a lifestyle I would recommend.
There were not paved drives to the small homes that these people resided in. The front door barely shut, a baby walking around in woolen feety pajamas by himself in the open area. It broke my heart.

A woman who only recently got politically involved, found some awful truths about our wonderful President. He isn’t very wonderful and doesn’t deserve to be called President. I totally agreed with her and told her so, and added how I like to write. It makes me feel good, but unfortunately, that’s all it does. We dump, we give evidence, we give leaks, truths–which makes it even more frustrating that his transparency was very transparent immediately, which made me get into politics more. I couldn’t believe all he was getting away with. Everyday was something more outrageous than the day before.
Now more people are going to rallies and tea parties and standing up. All great and the same stories are repeated a few hundred times in all the best sellers. Psst…the people are catching up to you, stop your repetitive writing, it’s boring and old news.

President Obama delivered a graduation speech at the University of Michigan on Saturday. In it, he raised several points that need addressing. As I started to think through it all, I realized it couldn’t be adequately covered in one writing. This one speech will keep me busy for most of this week.
I want to begin with his assertion that government somehow has an inherent goodness:
“What troubles me is when I hear people say that all of government is inherently bad. When our government is spoken of as some menacing, threatening foreign entity, it ignores the fact that in our democracy, government is us.”

Progressives are Wimps. I may be 5′2′’, half the weight of some men and women, but always grew up being able to fight for myself using words. Yes, there are sometimes that I have visions of John Wayne or Jimmy Cagney, just slugging someone out, but I don’t think it would ever go beyond that thought.
I have seen things not reported, or reported much later than I noticed them. I would say in all honesty, I am a tad jealous. I wish had I pursued journalism and my name was in a well-known paper or I was on a famous talking head’s show. I’d like to be on a panel or talk about the book I just wrote, even though it is, as all such books are, the same as the book previously written, just with a different title.
That aside, Obama is a would-be dictator and narcissist. He reminds me of the kids whose parents tell them “good job” for the slightest thing, things that we are supposed to be doing, like throwing litter in a trash can. I also don’t believe he has heard the word “no” very often — hence, the healthcare bill, overspending and doing whatever he wants. Another round of golf?

A recent Yahoo story tells us that Al Sharpton is “Obama’s link to the streets.” I beg to differ. Sharpton is Obama’s link to the gutter. (“Ex-mentor: Sharpton is Obama’s link to the streets” Yahoo news 04/17/10) Then again, I believe that Al HAS to be playing an angle (What a stretch that concept is.) with Obama as Sharpton was quoted as saying, “When Obama invites me (to the White House) all of a sudden we’re allies.” As well, Sharpton had what had to be an inadvertent “Cosby moment” as he actually said out loud and in public, “Black Americans need to solve our own problems.” You heard me. I couldn’t believe it myself.
It is certainly a loaded statement as Sharpton’s own unique brand of “problem solving” has led to arson and homicide, and that’s just for starters. If “solve our own problems” means fight against the liberals and their intentional destruction of the public schools which inordinately effects the black community, if it means ending the sempiternal cycle of multiple generations of welfare/government dependency, if it means fighting the liberals “woe-is-me-ism” which is exclusively directed at the black community, THEN we may be on to something. I am willing to wager that this “solve our won problems” means march around in circles, shut down highways and businesses with faux protests and blackmail executives and politicians into scratching yet another check.
