The Last Best Hope

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

By Dr. ROBERT OWENS

In the darkest days of the war when one stunning defeat followed another and the Union couldn’t seem to find a general capable of standing up to Robert E. Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia Abraham Lincoln said, “We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.” Today, we face a Leviathan of our own creation. Dr. Frankenstein a literary creation so brilliant he brought inanimate flesh to life had his name hijacked by his brutish creation. In like manner the noble experiment conceived by our Founders is now in the hands of those seeking to bring the collectivist dead back from the trash-heap of history.

Exclusive Interview with Bob Dane of FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform)

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

fairALL RIGHT MAGAZINE:  The stated goal of the Federation for American Immigration Reform is to reduce immigration to around 300,000 per year.  As it stands, the number is about 1,000,000.  What’s the difference?

FAIR: The difference is a higher quality of life for all Americans.  Stopping illegal immigration and reducing legal immigration is critical to every aspect of our well being.  We need a “cooling off” period. The annual level of admissions has been running higher for longer than ever before in our history.  It’s out of control because it’s fueled by the greed for cheap labor by big business, instant votes for the political parties, and the desire to increase membership and political clout by the ethno-centric groups.  The demands of these groups seem to dictate our immigration policy – a policy that is really intended to serve the broad national interest, not the needs of special interests.

The state of our current immigration policy doesn’t reflect our past American heritage, and it’s not in our current or future best interests.  From 1925-1965 we had what is often called the Golden Age of Immigration.  The numbers were controlled and sustainable, about 178,000 a year.  At no time in history were immigrants more welcomed, assimilated as quickly, or done so well.  But from 1965 to 1989 the numbers skyrocketed to about 567,000 annually.  And then from 1990 on, we are seeing more than 1 million arriving every year. The growth is so large that California has to build a school every day just to keep up with new immigrants!

We simply do not have the space, the resources or the capacity to absorb them all.   We are oversupplying our markets with cheap labor, burdening our schools, hospitals, jails, and testing the limits of our natural resources and energy supplies.

Yes, we are a nation of immigrants, but we’re principally a nation of laws and sociologically a nation of citizens.  We can still have immigration but just not at the huge level we have now.  Sustainability is the key. And we already have the most generous  immigration policy of all major countries and have nothing to apologize for.

It all comes to this.  There is more immigration demand in the world than the U.S. can possibly satisfy.  Right now there are 6.6 billion people on planet earth and that number grows by 78 million every year and over 50% live on less than $2 per day.  As the world’s population continues to explode, people will want to continue going where the conditions are best, and they’ll want to come to the U.S.  That makes sense for them, but not for us.  We are no longer the emerging industrial nation with wide open spaces for development and growth we used to be.

Immigration policy is in effect, population policy.  It speaks directly to the issue of “carrying capacity.”  Exactly how many more people do we want to squeeze into what is becoming a sardine can of a country?  Based on our present trends of one million legal entries and ½ million illegal alien entries each year…we really have perpetual growth in a finite place and that cannot realistically continue.  Our immigration policy needs to reflect our needs and the realities of the present day.

Daletoon of the Day: I’m a PC!

By DALE

As we have seen, several Obama appointees have notorious backgrounds, some with tax problems, at least one with a womanizing ex-President spouse, and now White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has had a run-in with someone from his past.

windmills

By DENEEN BORELLI

In July of 1967, Detroit and Newark were bathed in fire and blood. Anguished and hurt, people in poor and minority communities in these cities had had enough of crippling policies foisted on them by the ruling political establishment. They stood up and screamed for change.

In the collective melees, 66 died, 1,914 were injured and around 8,500 people were arrested.

It was an uprising against police brutality. It was an uprising against poverty. And it was an uprising against urban renewal and the government’s abuse of eminent domain.

Meant to acquire land for public projects, eminent domain was used as a sledgehammer against blacks rather than a scalpel on behalf of the community. Neighborhoods were torn asunder so others didn’t have to see “slums.”

Why Would Anyone Ever Want to be a Republican?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

elephantBy K. L. KRAEMER

Cher was on national television a while back sincerely asking why anyone would want to be a Republican. She seemed to think that if you were poor, black, or gay there was no place for you in the GOP. There are so many others like Cher, whose life isn’t largely political, who have concluded the same thing based on tidbits heard here and there.

It is to the Democrat advantage to keep people unenlightened, keep them armed with cliches and poorly aimed emotions and jealousies or anything else to muddy true Republican intentions. When anyone speaks out in defense of conservatism, then that anyone becomes an easy smear target. Fortunately, I know while writing behind my typewriter I won’t need to pick up and run from a pie.

First off, for those of you who despise Republicans, please realize the Republican party doesn’t divide Americans into categories and then claim to have a big tent because of all the compartments people can fit into. No, instead they truly do have a big welcoming tent that all Americans qualify to fit into regardless of race, class, or sexual preference. The only qualification involved is personal philosophy. Your own choice of personal philosophy, nothing else, is what should determine whether or not you will become a Republican.

Why America Must Return to the Faith of Our Fathers

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANIKing Solomon

Skilled statisticians like George Barna and carefully researched studies from the Pew Reports all show a declining moral climate and a gradual but alarming number of youthful exits from the church in America. Is it chronic, should we be worried?

Any writer, preacher, prophet or ordinary live-a-day Christian worth his or her salt is calling for America to come to her senses and return to the faith of our fathers. They are not moved by the rhetoric of socialisms priest and preachers whether found in academia, media, Hollywood or political office. They are driven by the proof shown to them in the fruit of America’s past, but they are not merely driven by common nostalgia.

Daletoon of the Day: Prompt and Circumstance

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

By DALE

Only recently did much of the American public come to realize the extent to which Presdient Obama relies on a teleprompter to deliver all those rousing, hopeful, and ever changing speeches.  But as it turns out, we still don’t know the half of it.  Here’s an exclusive look into Obama’s teleprompter use on a day-to-day basis.

Is Limbaugh Really the Problem?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

carville1

By Dr. ROBERT OWENS

It’s fashionable to point at Rush Limbaugh as the source of our descent into toxic politics. After the decent and humane way the Move-on-dot-Democrats and the lap-dog Mainstream Media treated President Bush for the last 8 years it’s disappointing that suddenly these paragons of fairness, civility and truth are being subjected to such a withering attack by the Most Powerful Man in America. Mr. Limbaugh is a radio personality, an astute commentator on the politics, society and economy of the country and he probably does need to keep half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair but he is not the Most Powerful Man in America.

President Sets Stage for Future Persecution of Christianity

President Obama’s show of anger with AIG for giving out bonus money to its top execs has raised the ire of the nation, and in AIG it has started an open rebellion. America may have a lot of enemies, but AIG would hardly make the top ten list of real bad guys. What’s the spin?

The Washington Post is reporting “a mob effect” inside AIG. The Post said “A tidal wave of public outrage over bonus payments swamped American International Group yesterday. Hired guards stood watch outside the suburban Connecticut offices of AIG Financial Products, the division whose exotic derivatives brought the insurance giant to the brink of collapse last year. Inside, death threats and angry letters flooded e-mail inboxes. Irate callers lit up the phone lines. Senior managers submitted their resignations. Some employees didn’t show up at all.”

Arrogance, Incompetence, Greed: Obama Style

Friday, March 20th, 2009

aigBy LARRY WILKE

The faux “outrage” being displayed by the Obama acolytes of late has certainly been worthy of consideration for an Academy Award nomination. The AIG Corporation, recipients of $170,000,000,000.00 dollars worth of “revenues,” has followed through on their contractual agreements and paid executives $160,000,000.00 in “bonuses”. As the fascists flop and foam in front the impartial media, it is nothing more than another in what will be a four-year sempiternal series of diversionary techniques. Get used to it, America.
