Special Message from MICHAEL REAGAN

My father Ronald Reagan was touched by God many times, including when he was inspired to write his book, Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation. I want you, and every American, to have a copy of this uplifting book about how precious each human life is and how each of us must act to create and protect a culture of life. Written at the sorrowful tenth anniversary of Roe v. Wade, this important book remains a vital keystone in our fight to protect the sacred value of every human life.

Daletoon of the Day: J-School

With the economy continuing to hemorrhage jobs, what better way to sit it out then to duck into school for a few years?  And what better way to show your hope for change then to attend a brand new journalism school, funded by “stimulus” dollars?  Then you, too, can be on your way to becoming the next Katie Couric.

Here Comes The Judge

judgesBy PAUL SCHNEE

Whenever we are told about a nominee’s “compelling” story, it’s as if a public relations campaign has already been put in place to innoculate us against any possible disapproval of the candidate and to distract us from paying too much attention to the judicial record.

Judge Sotomayor’s record is well known and displays, along with her public statements, a tendency, a desire, and even a preference to legislate from the bench. Her judicial activism, her lack of racial impartiality, and her lack of intellectual rigor should disqualify her from having breakfast with Justice Antonin Scalia let alone from sitting beside him on the Supreme Court. It won’t, of course. The glowing editorials have been prepared, the fawning magazine articles are in place, the tame morning show hosts have their sycophantic confections topped with sweet icing at the ready, and doubtless the divine Oprah is about to dispense her benediction. The fix is in courtesy of the ringmaster himself, His Fraudulency Barack Obama.

Our Public Servants At Work: 5-28-08

By NANCY MORGAN

The elected representatives of ‘we the people’ were hard at work last week on our behalf. The new Obama administration churned out proposals and legislation on a variety of fronts including the environment, the economy, and the (former) war on terror.

In response to the Federal Reserve’s report of an increasingly gloomy economic forecast, with an expectation for higher unemployment and a steeper drop in economic activity, our public servants in Congress introduced the Paid Vacation Act, requiring companies with more than 100 employees to offer a week of paid vacation for both full-time and part-time employees after they’ve put in a year on the job.

The Vicious Cycle of Globalization

Economist David Ricardo

By MICHAEL JAY DEAN

Think for a moment about a drug addict.  A man takes his first dose for the euphoria he expects to experience.  A trusted source told him how much better his life could be by using.  Pretty soon he is dosing every day.  Then it’s a double dose, because if he stops, he feels nothing but withdrawal pain.  Later his life is in chaos, but he cannot stop feeding his addiction, even if he wanted to.  In the end he is a shell of his former self, completely dependent upon the drug for survival, even though it is slowly killing him.

Another visual for consideration.  The positive feedback loop.  A man has stepped in quicksand.  At first he slowly sinks, and he attempts to keep walking, which causes further sinking.  He responds by attempting to jump, which results in his slipping down to his knees.  He then jerks to the side and falls down to his mid thighs.  He is now frightened as he slowly drops into the sand and he begins to struggle and twist, which only increases his rate of sinking.  Soon he is frantic with fear and passes the point of no return, sinking to his death.  The more he struggled the more he sunk into the sand, and the more he sunk, the more he wanted to struggle.

California Supreme Court Upholds Only Half of Prop. 8

A SAVECALIFORNIA.COM SPECIAL REPORT

The ruling by the California Supreme Court that some 18,000 homosexual “marriages” are valid, despite the vote of the people to prohibit such legal recognition, has frustrated and disappointed pro-family citizens who voted for true protection of marriage licenses for a man and a woman.

“While it was good that the majority of the justices ruled only man-woman marriages could be performed after Prop. 8 passed, it’s wrong and unconstitutional for the judges to permit counterfeit marriages in clear violation of Prop. 8,” said Randy Thomasson, President of SaveCalifornia.com, a statewide pro-family organization that has been fighting for natural marriage in California for more than a decade. ”An arm and a leg have been cut off the natural institution of marriage in California.”

Support for Open Borders Contradictory to Environmentalism

Our current immigration policy, both legal and illegal are adding approximately 2 Million people a year to our nation’s population and we are expected to have a half a billion people by mid century.  Many of these new citizens will be concentrated in the southwest where water resources are becoming scarce.  Much of our wilderness is being destroyed by Urban Sprawl, caused by massive population growth. Why are so many environmentalists refusing to address the impact massive immigration is having on the environment?

Some of the earliest advocates for conservation in American history were President Teddy Roosevelt and later Charles Lindbergh, both of whom were American Nationalists.  Since the 1960’s, The left has dominated the environmentalist movement. The same 60’s liberals who claimed the issue as their own also saw a liberal immigration policy as part of  their social justice agenda. They supported LBJ in signing the immigration act of 1965, which has had a massive impact on Population Growth. Since than the left has had a monopoly on the issue and made it taboo to link the affects that massive immigration has had on the environment. They have gone out of their way to demonize anyone who is for restricting immigration as a racist or xenophobe.

Barack Obama decided to stop by the C-SPAN station to tell the world what we already knew. “We are out of money.” He forgot to mention that he and his dream of making the Washington of today look more like St. Petersburg of 1917 is the overwhelming reason why. More on that particular topic a little later on.

C-Span’s Steve Scully decided to ask the logical questions of Obama that very few others have had the decency to ask.

Primer for understanding liberalism: Starting with a question about the “no men allowed” seat on the Supreme Court, Obama said, “I thought empathy wasn’t important and I continue to believe that.” Nearly 600 pandering puffy words later, he finally shut down. Scully then said, “And that’s what empathy is?” Obama then began sputtering again and finished up with, “It’s very important.” Words have no meaning to the liberals. They try to use as many of them as possible in order to dodge and deflect. Their goal is to keep you on a lexical Lazy Susan.

Sotomayor as Obama’s Affirmative Action Nominee

sotomayor

By ROBERT STARK

Obama has appointed Sonia Sotomayor to fill the vacancy left by Justice David Souter on the Supreme Court. Obama stated earlier that he wanted either a women or Latino on the Supreme Court. Currently there is only one female, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and there has never been a Latino member of the Court, making Sotomayor the first Latino nominee. There has been a lot of debate over whether Obama chose Sotomayor primarily because of her gender and ethnicity.

Perilous Progressive Patterns

Monday, May 25th, 2009

1938buickBy LARRY WILKE

After the Chrysler blitzkrieg, the next target in the path of the omnipotent Obama oligarchy is General Motors. Ford in their infinite wisdom, has resisted the impulse to sign on to the totalitarian takeovers. They appear to be the last capitalist free market automotive manufacturing holdout but the Obama “Auto Task FORCE,” (as in “force” everyone to comply.) enabled by its use of OUR tax dollars and the imaginary inflationary ones of the “Monopoly money Marxists,” will try their best to strangle these miscreants.

Two articles, “UAW, General Motors Reach Deal on Contract Concessions” and “White House Reportedly Prepares GM for Takeover” and the information therein, bring to mind a perilous progressive pattern. Or three.
