Perilous Progressive Patterns

After the Chrysler blitzkrieg, the next target in the path of the omnipotent Obama oligarchy is General Motors. Ford in their infinite wisdom, has resisted the impulse to sign on to the totalitarian takeovers. They appear to be the last capitalist free market automotive manufacturing holdout but the Obama “Auto Task FORCE,” (as in “force” everyone to comply.) enabled by its use of OUR tax dollars and the imaginary inflationary ones of the “Monopoly money Marxists,” will try their best to strangle these miscreants.
Two articles, “UAW, General Motors Reach Deal on Contract Concessions” and “White House Reportedly Prepares GM for Takeover” and the information therein, bring to mind a perilous progressive pattern. Or three.
Please keep in mind that the following two statements ALWAYS appear in some way, shape or form when “reporting” about the Obama caliphate: “…gave no details” and “a governmental source who spoke on the condition of anonymity.” The Obama administration has literally patented the “idea” of asking (demanding) everyone to blindly pass or endorse their liberal legislation without any exposure to or any mandatory revealing of, the “details.” Everything from the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009″ (The vast majority of Americans had absolutely no “details” about this multiple trillion dollar disaster including its actual name.) to the “deal” with the UAW and General Motors. (“The union announced the deal in a short statement issues Thursday that gave no details.” “UAW, General Motors Reach Deal on Contract Concessions” Foxnews)
Next we have the Obama administration official “speaking under the condition of anonymity.” Never have I heard this disclaimer used with such frequency. Even the completely liberally biased Wikipedia, on the topic of “news leaks,” mentions only two heinous examples, Watergate and the idiotic and imaginary Valerie Plame “leak.” Here the Teflon totalitarian wishes to see if the public would have the audacity to “disagree” with any of his progressive pronouncements. If that appears to be the case, just shove the “leaker” under the moronic media bus while blaming the whole mess on some anonymous “rogue disgruntled former employee.” (Example: The Obama “drive by shooting” of Air Force One in lower Manhattan costing the taxpayers $328,000 also cost “White House aide” Louis “Who??” Caldera his job. Obama had no idea.)
So, this “anonymous source” said that there is “no chance” that the goofy “Car Czars” will “prepare” to take GM into bankruptcy next week. “The process is too massive for so quick a move and could require preparations.” Here we have the governmental “investment” rate of 45 billion dollars at this point in time and suddenly there is a need for introspection. Just a short time ago, nearly ten times that amount of money later, trillions upon trillions of dollars (real and imaginary) for a “Socialist Stimulus Package” and the need for speed was all the rage while “introspection” was cast as “acrimonious” by those with so much to hide.
Part of this GM “plan” involves the Treasury getting 35.4% of GMAC, which is the lending arm of General Motors. GMAC is also taking over all auto and lending for Chrysler. So when someone buys a Chrysler or GM car and they secure their loan through GMAC, at least 35.4% of the profit from that loan will now go to the federal government as opposed to a formerly free market corporation, which would be reinvested in the corporation. The left’s obsession with exorbitant taxation is not enough; now they will indefinitely profit from every element of every Chrysler and GM transaction.
Is there a “timetable” for the government’s withdrawal from this socialist enterprise? If or when these “loans” are paid back with a fair market amount of interest, will the liberal government “give back” the idea of automotive manufacturing, sales and financing to the companies themselves? Will the free market EVER be allowed to return to this area of commerce? Will the federal government (45.5 billion GM, 8 billion Chrysler) and the UAW (55% “owner” of Chrysler, 39% “owner” of GM) ever produce an “exit plan” after they “save” these auto giants that are “too big to fail”?
GM’s current “shareholders,” average Joe’s like you and me who looked to such “blue chip” organizations as the foundations of the portfolios that were supposed to be part of our retirements, will be “allowed” 1% of GM, or less than 1 billion dollars. With Chrysler, the “shareholders” were FORCED to relinquish at a rate of pennies on the dollar. This is just another step towards a total liberal governmental takeover and their targeted destruction of the middle class. Those who used to “invest” towards their retirement will now need to turn to the government for their subsistence.
GM “plans” to close sixteen more factories, which we are told will cost 21,000 “hourly workers” their jobs. As of this moment in time, GM has 60,000 “hourly workers” but “plans” to make that number 40,000 by 2010. This paltry figure must be of concern to Mr. “Create a million jobs” Obama. That sum puts him well behind the pace to surpass the impressive total of 539,000 jobs that he LOST last month alone.
The only reasoning given for this (remember: “gave no details.”) is that GM is trying “to cut labor costs and shrink its manufacturing footprint to match demand for its product.” That is a recipe for failure, it is a template for a domestic disaster which is precisely what the all of the “Czars” of the Obama oligarchy must have in mind.
If “demand for its product” is actually an overriding concern for what is left of GM, I certainly hope that the “experts” of the Obama administration aren’t allowed into the research and development areas of the company, like the liberal “green” virus that has infected Chrysler.
If the Chrysler/GM takeovers aren’t actually “designed to fail,” two things must take place in order to ensure their “success” IF Obama continues to insist upon the production of dangerous and unfeasible vehicles. Protectionism on two fronts. Internationally, by taxing imported products and domestically, through the mandatory purchase of their vehicles by Americans.
The liberals will have to resort to protectionism in order to cushion and insulate their constituents within the UAW who have invested so little yet have so much to lose. It’s not enough that they will miraculously “own” 55% of Chrysler and 39% of GM, in order to ensure their survival, “competition” must be eliminated. “Buy American” used to be a suggestion.
Your guide for this perilous progressive pattern would be the liberal coddling of the NEA and the prearranged planning and design relative to the intentional implosion of the public school system. “Choice” with both the public schools and now the automotive industry must be eradicated. “Choice” from the carcinogenic perspective of the liberals must only involve the “choice” between saline injections or ice tongs.
No one should be surprised by any of this, it is all part of the “transparency” of the perilous progressive patterns.
