War is a horrific business. I don’t like it; neither do I wish to have it forced upon us. Nevertheless, the U.S. is fighting a war in Afghanistan, and Israel prepares for the next round with Hamas, Hezbollah and their puppet master—Iran. The Islamic enemy, in both cases, is playing by their own barbaric rules—unrecognized by the Geneva Convention or by any civilized society, but advocated in the Qur’an. They care about human life in so far as we fret about the next mosquito’s; they behead their POWs, enslave their women, terrorize their own people, their own children, abuse them, use them as body armor. All because both U.S. and Israel made it clear—human shields are the most effective defense for safeguarding the Shahid and the Mujahidin.

General McChrystal has (was) resigned. It was a smart move—not by the president, but rather by the general. McChrystal is a brilliant real life strategist. He must have realized that the war in Afghanistan was going badly. The war was not winnable under the present constraints, requiring him to play by rules he considered wrong, poorly devised, politically motivated by men who did not understand what it took to win it. What’s more, the strategy he advocated—a government in a box—was not working due to the inability of the corrupt, apathetic Afghan government to put it into a sustainable action. McChrystal’s strategy has also brought about a considerable measure of criticism due to its semi-covert financial support, bribes, and disregard for the drug trafficking business conducted by corrupt officials and warlords. It was, still is, the only way he could win their backing and cooperation, protect his troops, minimize casualties.

In the primary election campaign, every candidate including
Joe Biden,
President Obama’s Vice President, criticized him for his lack of experience in not only domestic management and affairs but lack of leadership and understanding of foreign policy. As
Hilary Clinton once said,
‘Who do you want answering the phone when that 3:00a.m. call comes?’
Well the phone rang and President Obama learned what General Stanley McChrystal and his associates thought of the President and his leadership skills. McChrystal fundamentally called Obama a failure for not taking a leadership and winning strategy stance on Afghanistan.

He offered his life along with those who served so that we can live ours with the freedoms that we enjoy today. ‘We will never forget your mission, Marc Alan Lee.’
Americas Mighty Warriors is a charitable organization managed by Debbie Lee. Her mission in life is to honor, thank, support, and encourage our troops and their families and to remember the sacrifice of her son, Marc Alan Lee, the first U.S. Navy SEAL killed in Iraq.
Debbie Lee accepts the challenge from Marc’s last letter home to ‘pass on the kindness, the love and the precious gift of human life through random acts of kindness’ that will impact and honor our military, the fallen and their families for their selfless service and sacrifice.
Marc Alan Lee, was the first U.S. Navy SEAL killed in Iraq on August 2, 2006. He stood in the direct line of fire three times that day. He chose to use his ‘today’ to defend his buddies, to defend us and to protect this nation from the terrorists who want to destroy America and everything we represent. He could have fallen to his knees and helped his wounded teammates. He could have stayed below the protective cover provided by the cement wall on a rooftop. He could have been home today with his family and the outcome would have been different for his buddies and their families. But Marc was a young man who valued others lives more important than his own. He recognized the urgency of what he had to do with his last ‘today.’ He did that for you and for me.

A war here, a war there; everywhere it’s war, war, war. General Douglas MacArthur wanted to invade China because they offered a safe haven for our enemies during the Korean War. In testimony before the Senate the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Omar Bradley said, “It would be the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Today we face endless wars for elusive peace when we can’t secure our own borders. We’re committed to war in Iraq and Afghanistan; we’ve been rattling sabers in Iran’s direction for years and there’s one more war just for good measure.

A Message from the Afghan Embassy
It is with great sadness to reflect that the number of American military casualties has reached one thousand precious lives in Afghanistan. Our history and my people and government will never forget these ultimate sacrifices for restoring freedom and hope to my country.
I would like to convey my deep condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones of the fallen heroes as we mourn the loss of all those Americans and Afghans, both civilians and military, who have given their lives to secure Afghanistan, to protect the U.S. homeland, and to maintain regional stability and global security.

With all the fuss about terrorists’ rights lately, it’s only appropriate that the military adapt to its new role as a basic police squad. Introducing the new pre-battle checklist direct from the Pentagon…

Lincoln said,"We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
By LARRY WILKE
It seems that sitting atop the fence of neutrality can be a very painful to your political posterior. The most recent Obama missive was about a subject of unprecedented importance, the war in Afghanistan, so his perpetual “CYA” stance is not only clumsy; it is also dangerous for so many others. Since Obama also considers himself not only the conscience of, but the President of, the World, what the world thinks is important especially when it mirrors the thinking of the American victims of the imbecilic flailing of the Obama administration.
In “Searching in Vain for the Obama Magic” (spiegel dot de), Gabor Steingart wonders aloud what many across the Atlantic must be thinking. Then again, these are the same thoughts and questions that everyone on this side of the Atlantic must be thinking. Normally, Obama tries to pay a submissive homage to his lathering liberal base when it comes to matters of war. In this case, Obama has tried to plant a series of disingenuous kisses upon everyone’s cheeks. When it comes to war, trying to please everyone invariably ends up pleasing no one.
“Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false.” It seems obvious that Steingart and the rest of the Germans haven’t been spoon fed the litany of Obama speeches since the beginning of his presidential shampaign. Each like the one before, is simply another example of communist cut and paste meant to play upon the emotions of those who are lachrymosely inclined. Were Steingart to have been deluged with the endless examples of Obamadrama strained and kneaded through the columns of the “impartial” media here in America, he would have a better understanding of how “false” ALL of Obama’s speeches feel.

When the neo-cons, a group of liberal democrats realized Margret Thatcher was right in saying, “The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money” they decided liberalism is as Michael Savage contends a mental disorder. In the 1970s and 80s they abandoned the Good Ship Democrat proclaiming themselves Born-Again Republicans. Generally they still carry the baggage of their former psychosis when it comes to social issues, but when it comes to foreign affairs and military matters they sound like Errol Flynn playing George Custer in They Died With Their Boots On, “Don’t wait for orders from headquarters. Mount up everybody and ride to the sound of the guns.”
These neo-cons not only flew high into the circles of on-air talking-heads they swirled through the Bush White House leading us into Iraq. Now they’re beating the drums for massive reinforcements in Afghanistan.
