Eden’s Toon Garden: Obama Honors Bush

Friday, February 19th, 2010

edenbannerBy DAVID JOHN EDEN

It’s a lonely club at the top.  As such, Obama has finally offered an olive branch to former President George W. Bush, and there’s no better way to mend a fence like that than making sure a predecessor’s name lives on forever.  This can come in the form of an airport, a school, a bridge, or even a world famous geographic landmark.

The Dance Of The Demented

danceBy LARRY WILKE

Sometimes the eternal optimism of a child doesn’t take into account all of the things that they have done prior to their pronouncements that make their proclamations impossible to bring to fruition. Thus ANY statement or release from the Obama obfuscators must be taken with a grain of salt. Strike that, it must be taken with a block of salt.

Demokratik desperation seems to be breeding an idiotic brand of optimism that appears almost nonsensically naïve based upon the realities of the economy that has been forced upon America by Obama and the liberal Demokrats since 2006. The “Blameless Bumbler” in the White House constantly repeats his Marxist mantras for effect, as if the mere repeating of fascist fiction would somehow make it true. The next step will be for them to say the same things only louder. Liberal lunacy does not become more lucid with volume.

U.S. Rep Joe Wilson and Quantum Physics – Why Doesn’t the President See This?

By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

When it comes to Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst during Obama’s address to the congress it may have finally happened that the immoveable object has met the unstoppable object.

Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst at the President’s joint address to Congress was followed by an apology. Millions of Americans are now more amazed that both the President and the Democrats seem so thin-skinned. What seems so inappropriate may be after all just what the doctor ordered. Why doesn’t the President see this?

Talk To Me. Pretty Please?

friends

By LARRY WILKE

The “lets-stick-our-weenie-in-every-campfire” liberals have now decided to overhaul, or to phrase it more appropriately for the leftists: “takeover,” the Army Field Manual’s interrogation guidelines. In short, the liberals think that the terrorists will “talk” if they lay like spoons with them after a cup of warm cocoa and a viewing of “Fried Green Tomatoes” with the appropriate lighting for the mood. This Swiss watch of an idea will certainly make America safer.

When the “allegations” start flying, the liberals love to spring into action. Desperate at this point to take ANY attention away from their intentional destruction of the economy and their “hope” of destroying health care, Obama is siccing Attorney general Eric Holder over the “alleged prisoner abuse under the Bush administration.” (”Obama Administration Urged to Consider Expanded Interrogation Methods” Fox News) I would prefer that Holder concentrate on the palpable abuse of the American capitalist system and the formerly free market by his boss and his minions.

prayer

By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

A Jew hating, down with America, Muslim group is openly looking for recruits, no not in Iraq, Yemen or Afghanistan but right here in America.

Formed and committed to the establishment of international Islamic empire the group linked to Hamas known as Hizb ut-Tahrir is holding its first public meeting for recruitment in the windy city of Chicago. The group which functioned clandestinely for years are now out in the open some are saying it is due to the ultra relaxed and highly touted PC tolerance of the Obama administration.

Angry Prez Gives Cambridge Cops the Old One-Two-Three

gates

By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

According to Boston.com July 23, 2009, the President is ‘surprised’ by the controversy surrounding his remark that the Cambridge police acted ‘stupidly’ in the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. No one could be more surprised at the president’s choice of words than the rest of us.

The President is among other things the chief law enforcement official in the land. It is un-nerving if not completely mind boggling to hear him refer to the actions of a police department as ‘stupid.’ Even if their actions were completely asinine couldn’t we expect a little more self control and reserve from the top law enforcement official in the nation?

While news sources are getting to the facts of the matter as time goes on, no one has yet remarked on the general demeanor of the President as he addressed the incident at his press conference. There was clearly an angry tone and angry rhetoric in use at the press meet, but it is far from the first time.

lucifer

By PAUL SCHNEE

In his “INFERNO” Dante wisely reserved the most scalding corners of Hell for those who, in a moral dilemma, tried to remain impartial. If Barack Obama had been a character in Dante’s Divine Comedy we would have known exactly where to find him. You will recall that when Russia invaded Georgia, during our election, the best Obama could do was to issue a statement saying “both sides should show restraint” thus drawing a moral equivalency between the attacker and the attacked. The inability to distinguish between the arsonist and the fire-fighter is a hallmark of the appeaser. Those of us who are unable to remain impartial between the fire and the fire department believe that a firm and immediate statement of moral support saying that the United States, as a beacon of freedom and democracy, stands with the Iranian people in their desire for fair elections, civil liberties, and the rule of law, should have been issued at once. This would not have smeared their protests with the “taint” of Americanism which so concerns the reluctant champions of democracy. Such a declaration of solidarity may seem a bit like stating the obvious but it is akin to “Give me liberty or give me death”. It has the salutory effect of stiffening the spine and focusing attention on freedom from tyranny.

Someone Else’s Problem

fdrBy Dr. ROBERT OWENS

I’m thinking about changing my economic strategy.  My parents were raised in the Roosevelt Depression, and they taught me to work hard, save money, and pay for what I wanted.  I was a deficit hawk when being a deficit hawk wasn’t cool.  Now that it isn’t even an option, why should I stay at the party when there’s no one left to dance with? In our new Omerica I think I’ll join the winning side and try spending more than I make every day for the rest of my life and see how that works out.  If I can just manage to get where I owe so much that I’m too big to fail, I can start really living large on federal handouts, excuse me bailouts, excuse me, stimulus.  Won’t that be sweet?  I’ll hold seminars on “How to Borrow Your Way to Wealth,” or “If You’ll Take a Check I’ll Take Two Please.”  What a great racket, excuse me scheme, excuse me, program. And technically it’s not a shell game if you don’t use shells.

Five Big Lies and a Thousand Dollars

liar

By NANCY MORGAN

Last week saw an unusual number of outright lies from our media and political class, lies that went virtually unchallenged. Here are but five of the worst.

Lie #1: ABC, celebrating Obama’s 100 day mark, announced he is enjoying the best presidential job approval rating of any president at this point in 20 years. Not so. A simple google search shows that George W. Bush, at the 100 day mark in his presidency, enjoyed a 62% approval rating. Obama, alas, enjoys only a 52% approval rating. ABC lied.

Lie #2: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced to the world that she was never told during a congressional briefing in 2002 that waterboarding or other “enhanced” interrogation techniques were being used on terrorism suspects. This directly contradicts a 2007 Washington Post article  saying that the California Democrat and three other lawmakers had received an hour-long secret briefing on the interrogation tactics, including waterboarding, and that they raised no objections at the time. In plain English – Nancy Pelosi lied.
