Louisiana: It’s Our Butt That’s Getting Kicked!

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

flagLABy Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

“President Barack Obama says his talks with Gulf fishermen and oil spill experts are not an academic exercise. They’re so I know whose ass to kick.” Fox News June 8, 2010

In less than twenty minutes I can reach the areas affected by the oil gushing from the BP deep water drill site in the Gulf. We here in St. Bernard Parish will feel the brunt of this disaster for decades to come. Barack Obama’s recent address from the Oval Office offers little consolation.

When residents of St. Bernard Parish and other low lying parishes are questioned about Mr. Obama’s comments the responses are anything but glowing. Most are saying it was all rhetoric but without any specifics or practical and immediate help.

We are proud of Louisiana Governor Jindal’s tireless efforts to curb the siege of oil slithering toward and smothering our coastline. We are enraged that the US Coastguard debated the use of berms while the crude blanketed our coasts. We are incensed that Dutch boats were ignored for the Jones Act, which could have been temporarily suspended by a simple Presidential order and the day could have been saved.

Silent Scandal

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

By NANCY MORGAN

If a scandal isn’t reported by the media, does that mean it never happened?

For the millions of Americans who don’t watch Fox News or listen to talk radio, the answer is a resounding yes.

Last Friday, November 20, evidence came to light that “appears to show a conspiracy to falsify data and suppress academic debate in order to exaggerate the possible threat of man-made global warming.” Translation: The global warming movement rests almost entirely on the IPCC’s claim to represent the “consensus” of climate science. That entire movement now stands discredited.

Opaque Transparency or Smoke and Mirrors?

freedomofspeechAssault on Free Speech Continues

By Dr. ROBERT OWENS

Remember the promise of transparency that helped win the Presidency?  All bills passing Congress would be posted for 5 days before signed.  Seems the rules have changed.  Apparently the pledge only applied to NON-emergency bills and everything is an emergency in the New Republic.  The first bill signed into law the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was apparently an emergency.  We had to pass the pork-laden stimulus bill before any of the Best-Congress-Money-Can-Buy could read it; otherwise unemployment might reach the unacceptable 8% range though most of the provisions wouldn’t kick in for months or years.  The Bums-Rush is also being applied to the nationalization of medicine though the provisions of this monstrosity conveniently won’t overwhelm us until after the next presidential election.

In a direct assault against even the possibility of transparency the Chicago trained attack machine in the West Wing (Chicago’s 51st Ward) decided they have the power to decide what constitutes news.   For months they’ve refused to allow anyone on Fox.  This started when Chris Wallace had the bad taste to fact-check several statements made by White House officials and then the inexcusably bad taste to mention the official statements didn’t line up with the facts.  This was bad enough, but Fox commentator Glenn Beck dared to expose Obama advisor Van Jones as a self-proclaimed communist and then air the Acorn prostitution sting the totally transparent Obama Whitehouse decided it was time to muzzle the only major news network not in the tank.  The Obama Whitehouse declared war on Fox News.

Is This the News or a Comedy Tour?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

thenewsBy Dr. ROBERT OWENS

Everyone routinely called them the Mainstream Media.  Rush now calls them the State Controlled Media.  I’ve called them the Mainstream Media, the Poodle Press, and the Lap-Dog Media.  Whatever you’ve called them, the time’s come to call them irrelevant.  Out with the old and in with the new.

When news organizations consistently slant their coverage and ignore major stories because they don’t fit their template or further their agenda, it’s time to re-evaluate what they are.  They portray themselves as objective yet everyone can see they’re partisan publicists for a particular party and a particular radical left-wing of that party.  Study after study shows the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media are perceived by the public as advocates whose left-wing agenda is self-serving and deceptive.  Instead of the fourth branch of government, honest brokers working to keep the public informed, they’ve degenerated into craven corporate cheerleaders for Progressivism.

Ever since Walter Cronkite denounced America’s commitment in Vietnam the corporate media have championed increasingly radical left-wing causes.  They first joined the Democrat Party in all but name.  Then they joined the extreme liberal wing of that Party.  Now they’ve joined the Cavalcade of Czars in the statist campaign to re-make America.

Why Parents Don’t Want Obama to Address their Children

Monday, September 7th, 2009

obama13By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

Barack Obama’s plan to address school children K-12 has raised a furor among millions of parents in the nation. But so far the only reason given for the stir it has caused is that Americans don’t want politics in the classroom. Are there other reasons and what are they?

Reactions run the gamut but more typically hang on the one of two poles. Those against it generally agree it is not very timely in the light of recent controversies over health care. Those who think it’s as normal as apple pie say it is about staying in school and the promise of what a better education affords. Both of these answers are but the tip of the iceberg.

Thank You, Fox News

fox

By NANCY MORGAN

Thank you, Fox News. Thank you for reporting the news other networks ignore. Thanks for not condescending to the great unwashed by informing us how we should think on a given subject.

Thank you for not adopting the patronizing, elitist attitudes that have become de rigueur on most other networks. Thank you for recognizing that Americans have the right to information from both sides of the aisle and are fully capable of making up their own minds on issues, given enough facts.

Thanks, Fox, for actually questioning the incessant spin coming from Camp Obama. No one else is. If not for your reporting, most Americans would still be unaware of the depth of ‘change’ our president is proposing. Even though the old media succeeded in getting Obama elected, thanks to you, Americans are finally being given access to information they should have had before they voted. Better late than never.

Napolitano: More Change We Can Believe In, Or Else

Monday, April 20th, 2009

dhssec

By Rev. MICHAEL BRESCIANI

The strongest conservative may have had a moment when they actually wanted to chant the change mantra. Guided by conscience, reason, historical precedent or just good old fashioned caution; in our heart of hearts we knew it was made to sound all too easy.

When a slogan becomes the battle cry in a political campaign and is accepted in place of a clear and defining policy the excited soon become the exasperated. The call to follow without clear parameters is just another way of saying “trust me.” Those who did may have slightly outnumbered those who didn’t but the missing definition was soon to follow.

Part of that definition can be seen in the report issued by the head of Homeland Security. The report warns against returning veterans people who disdain abortion, listening to prophecy preachers and those who can’t settle in on the “all religions are good” claptrap. No one could have said it better than author and Fox News’ strategist Ralph Peters in the article “The Vet Threat” posted on the famed internet blog ‘Exile Street.’ Peters said “Thank God, DHS has a fearless leader, Janet-from-another-planet Napolitano, who isn’t afraid to call white trash “white trash…your tax dollars at work.”
