As We Fiddle, Afghanistan Burns

The Obama administration is headed down the irrecoverable path to defeat in Afghanistan, and appears to be waving the white flag in the global War on Terror.

It has now been more than seven long weeks since the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, General Stanley A. McChrystal, reported on the desperate need for more troops in Afghanistan, warning that defeating the insurgents will not be possible if the United States fails to “gain the initiative and reverse insurgent momentum” over the next 12 months.

Obama’s Teachable Moment

Dear Mr. President,

I’m one of those Americans who lives in flyover country. I was treated to your much publicized ‘teaching moment’ recently and felt a response was warranted.

I’d like to say, with all respect, that this American resents the patronizing arrogance you exhibited as you deigned to ‘teach America’ about race. First off, I don’t need lessons on race from you. I take my teachings from the Bible, not a man who sat through 20 years of ‘hate whitey’ sermons. I’d much prefer you bestow your teachable moments on, oh, say terrorists, or enemies of democracy.

Racism or Post-Discrimination Syndrome?

With the recent arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. by Cambridge police, there was an outcry of “racism” from some in the black community.  These undertones were further stirred by some elites in the Democratic Party who specialize in fueling the accusations of racism for political reasons.

President Barack Obama referred to the arrest as “stupidly” for one sole reason — the skin color of the accused.  Had this been a white person in Mr. Gates’ position, I doubt if the incident would have incurred so much attention.

Ethnic relations in America continue to suffer severe setbacks due to those who resurface accusations of cultural disparities.  Undeniably, there exists racism, but we must admit that if we were all the same color, we would find something else to hate one another about.
