It’s now or never for Republicans to show grit… No more pussy footing around, cut spending now not in 10 years…In ten years America will be under water without a swim coach.

“Why is it that compromise always means increasing taxes today and doing cuts ten years from now?”
Boehner’s New Plan Doesn’t Cut Spending Posted: 28 Jul 2011 08:40 AM PDTBy Chris EdwardsHouse Speaker John Boehner has revised his budget plan in response to an unfavorable analysis by the CBO. The CBO has examined Boehner’s new plan and finds thatit would cut spending by $917 billion over 10 years. Of the total, only $761 billion would be cuts to programs. The rest of the savings would be from reduced interest costs.Actually, the revised Boehner plan doesn’t cut spending at all. The chart shows the discretionary spending caps in the new Boehner plan. Spending increases every year—from $1.043 trillion in 2012 to $1,234 trillion in 2021. (These figures exclude the costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan).
The “cuts” in the Boehner plan are only cuts from the CBO baseline, which is an assumed path of constantly rising spending. If Congress wanted to, it could require CBO to increase its “baseline” spending by, say, $5 trillion over the next decade. Then Boehner could claim that he was “cutting” spending by $5.9 trillion, even though his plan hadn’t changed. You can see that discretionary “cuts” against baselines don’t mean anything. The way to make real spending cuts is to abolish programs and agencies. But it’s been eight months since a landslide election that focused on the issue of spending cuts, and the Republican leadership hasn’t proposed any major terminations.

MR. PRESIDENT, YOU CHOOSE WHAT TO SIGN…
The Democrats have not presented a budget in over 800 days.. why is the media not chewing out their backside about not stepping up to the plate. Yet the media uses Republicans as their whipping “boy” for not having a budget.
Since November 2010 the Republican Congress has been working their tushies off trying to put forward a budget that cuts spending and doesn’t raise taxes.
Speaker Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor have been listening to the American people with the You Cut program.
Voters have been loud and clear CUT SPENDING and NO NEW TAXES. Hang tough guys the voters are with you all the way.

Boehner walks..
Why do Democrats always want to raise taxes now and cut spending over years? If you don’t have the money today cut spending now, not years from now. Stop borrowing 40% of your debt. If Congress continues down this path America will become another Greece. I’m not an economist, however you don’t need a PHD in economics to know if you don’t have the money you don’t borrow to spend money you can’t afford to pay back. It’s common sense…Or when you get elected to manage the nations business do you lose your common sense? It seems John’s common sense is doing well. My respect for John Boehner went up 10 times, I had been concerned that he would fold and give in to Obama. This is Boehner’s letter to his colleagues (PDF) in the House explaining what happened.

I do not lightly use the names of the only cities in history obliterated by the use of Atomic weapons. The nature of the cause in which they forever stand as sentinels of determination precludes their use for any profane purpose. I wouldn’t use such loaded terms unless the issue at hand wasn’t equally as momentous within the flow of American History.
Hearing the voice of the people on November 3rd, President Obama ought to pivot to the Center after the coming Tea Party driven Republican resurgence. The Chat-o-crats of talk radio and the 24 hour cable news cycle debate endlessly whether he will imitate Bill Clinton who suddenly switched from his drive to socialize America into a born-again reformer bellowing, “The Era of Big Government is over,” to ensure that he was still relevant. However, there’s a significant difference between the man from Hope and the purveyor of hope and change. Bill Clinton is a pragmatist willing to do whatever it takes to stay in front of any crowd so he can call it a parade and look like the Grand Marshal. President Obama is an ideologue with an iron-clad agenda and, as his most admirable trait, an iron determination to stand by his convictions. Instead of pivoting Mr. Obama will unveil the Imperial Presidency hidden in those thousand-page bills no one reads.

Only days before America’s Fourth of July celebrations, in Racine Wisconsin President Obama mocked Congressmen John Boehner (R-OH) about his recent remarks. Boehner said the President’s financial reforms were like “using a nuclear weapon to target an ant.”
The fact that Wall St. had a choker applied to it while big offenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went untouched was never mentioned in Obama’s address. Also not mentioned was the complete failure of this administration’s stimulus packages to stimulate anything but controversy, partisan division and national debt.
When cameras panned across the Racine crowd of Obamerites it was clear they had been handpicked. The mesmerized were anything but a flag waving enthusiastic crowd of Tea Partiers. Complete with snickers and giggles, the President belittled the Congressmen’s remarks by repeating it word for word in an air of mockery. It was juvenile, disrespectful and divisive and it would have been a bit more bearable if it had been preceded with the common advertising disclaimer, “paid spokesperson non client dramatization.”
