We all knew it was coming didn’t we?

Another high profile murder.

More calls for gun control.

It’s that damned 2^nd Amendment isn’t it?

If ONLY there weren’t guns. No guns…no more murders.

That is what socialists WANT you to believe. They are DESPERATE to find a way to make you believe that or, rather, to make just barely enough Americans believe it to wipe out the 2^nd Amendment.

So desperate that they will latch onto ANY situation to push their agenda.

Saturday, Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and then, drove to the KC Chiefs practice facility, thanked his coaches for all they had done for him and, in front of them, shot and killed himself.

Sunday, during halftime, Bob Costas pushed for gun control.

It was expected…

It was inane…

Costas was so unprepared to make his OWN comments that he had to read from an op-ed written by a former football player.

In 2008, the liberals put up the haughty hilarity known at the time as “Stop the Smears”. This was the snitch site on Al Gore’s Internet that was devoted to taking the legitimate arguments against the poltroonish potentate and to classify them as “smears” so as to marginalize them and to de-legitimize them. I sarcastically (imagine that.) said at the time that John McCain should have immediately responded with a web site that should have been called “Stop the Ears”.

I have often said that according to the liberals, the first amendment does not apply to those that disagree with the disagreeable Democrats.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I am a moderate Democrat. More to the point, I have cast four ballots for Barack Obama (Illinois U.S. Senate and presidential primary and general elections). And more than likely, I will cast a similar set of votes for him in 2012. I am a dyed in the wool Obama Democrat and will probably remain one for life.

But, I do believe that some conservative principles can and do work well. And unlike many Democrats, I am not so quick to poo poo the legacy of Ronald Reagan.   Yes I believe he was a great president. And I am also a political and diplomatic historian, and I see some trends with this new administration that if they are not reversed (and quickly) then the country is headed for even greater and more severe economic challenges. And if Obama isn’t careful in his approaches, it is certain that he will become a one-term president.
