The Shape of Things to Come

Since it is mandatory that we recognize race in our “color blind society,” Obama early this NO-vember, took to the airwaves in several large URBAN areas to plead with his brothers and sisters to head out to the polls and “do the right thing” as Spike Lee says.
That is correct, Obama decided to do a few little call-ins at a few “urban-format radio stations.” (“Obama: Agenda ‘all at risk’ in any Republican romp” apnews my way) The idea of appealing to at best fifteen per cent of the nation’s population (depending upon last night’s homicide numbers) at this down-to-the-wire moment seems as ridiculous as the things that the egomaniacal authoritarian had to say to this “key Democratic constituency.” After all, he drew well over ninety per cent of this voter block in 2008, and eight or ten more votes isn’t going to help his lost cause now.
All They Did

Every two years without fail, the verminous vaudevillians of the left load their clapboard wagons for another ridiculous repeat of their socialist side show, “Honest gang, we really are centrists!” This time-worn tune invariable scratched out on their fascist fiddles was always accompanied by this diversionary dance. To the observant this charade is as humorous and harmless as a Punch and Judy Show, and to the mentally malleable this rococo reproduction usually manages to snare a few converts to the cause. Due to the unprecedented criminal acts of the Kenyan Kollectivist, the liberals haven’t even packed their grimy gripsacks as every liberal save for the completely maniacal, are performing a new act entitled, “Duck and Cover.”
Consider This: Washington…We Have a Problem

In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I am a moderate Democrat. More to the point, I have cast four ballots for Barack Obama (Illinois U.S. Senate and presidential primary and general elections). And more than likely, I will cast a similar set of votes for him in 2012. I am a dyed in the wool Obama Democrat and will probably remain one for life.
But, I do believe that some conservative principles can and do work well. And unlike many Democrats, I am not so quick to poo poo the legacy of Ronald Reagan. Yes I believe he was a great president. And I am also a political and diplomatic historian, and I see some trends with this new administration that if they are not reversed (and quickly) then the country is headed for even greater and more severe economic challenges. And if Obama isn’t careful in his approaches, it is certain that he will become a one-term president.
2009: The Year That Wasn’t

On this New Year’s Day, maybe we should take a look at the year that wasn’t, which was based on the worst move of the year before, and what may lie ahead in 2010.
The “lost” year of 2009 was precipitated by the worst move of 2008, which was the nomination of John McCain. The McCain nomination was the Republican answer to “playing for a tie,” “liberal lite” or “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” McCain would have had to deal with the liberal House and Senate and as a “maverick.” He might have ended up bending where he shouldn’t have. There were enough liberals in both Houses for the liberals to continue with their “Target America First” and their “Contract ON America” programs virtually unimpeded.
