In what might be called a “scientific breakthrough,” Australian scientists have discovered that “sea sponges share almost 70 percent of human genes.” (“Scientists find sea sponges share human genes” Breitbart) I’ve known for decades that sponges actually share 100 percent of their genes with the liberal base, which is made up wholly of sponges and moochers.
On a corollary note, congratulations are in order for the creased collectivist, (yes her face and neck are actually starting to resemble a plate of spaghetti) Nancy Pelosi. She has done such a magnificent job of “draining the swamp” in Washington that she has managed to then expose liberals like Rangel and Waters who have existed at the bottom of the liberal “swamp” for far too long.

Falling like the staccato drumbeat of a pouring rain, the day-by-day assault by the ruling Progressives on the traditions and sensibilities of America has the no-longer-silent majority reeling. We were warned. The watchmen on the walls Buchanan, Limbaugh, Beck and others told us what was coming. They tried to alert those willing to vote for an untried community organizer because they wanted change that the change would change once the organizer got organized, so none of these transformative changes should surprise anyone. Obama the candidate told us what Obama the president would do. He said he wanted to be a transformative president. He told us his administration would be all about fundamentally transforming America. But it seems not many of the people who hoped for change were listening except to the hope and change part.

Americans have dealt with the arrogance of power before. From 1756 through 1763 a world war ravaged the globe from India to Europe and from the farthest reaches of the Pacific Ocean to the deepest woods of Ohio. England and France fought to see who would become the greatest colonial power.
For seven years, battles raged throughout the Colonies as the French and their Indian allies pushed the Americans back across the Allegheny Mountains and sought to over-run the fertile area from the mountains to the coast which held the majority of English settlements. After many massacres and defeats the American Militias, with a core of British officers and supplies, were able to not only repulse the enemy but follow them home to Canada. Known as the French and Indian War in America and as the Seven Years War in Europe when the final treaties were signed in 1763, with the lone exception of Florida, England became the master of North America east of the Mississippi.

When the San Francisco über liberal Nancy Pelosi became the Speaker of the House, she said she was going to drain the swamp of political corruption they claimed were created by 12 years of Republican control of Congress. Instead of draining anything Speaker Pelosi and her ham-fisted cohorts have brought slime time to prime time as they wallow in what they came to drain.
Representative Charles Rangel who’s been in charge of writing tax policies for the Democratic Congress couldn’t seem to pay his own taxes or even report millions of dollars of income. This of course is everyone else’s fault. He has been forced to resign as chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee. Then there’s the curious case of the Democrat Representative from New York who eagerly resigned rather than face an ethics investigation and then imploded on national television. Now the question turns to what did the Speaker know and when did she know it. Allegations have surfaced that her office was informed last year about Congressman Massa’s tickle parties and Greco-Roman wrestling matches with male staffers but did not inform the ethics committee.

It is probably safe to say that the CIA would be unlikely to brief members of the Select Committee On Intelligence about things they did not intend to do. So, Nancy Pelosi needs to spend the next few days trying to remember what she was told and when it was told to her. The official CIA memos with their accompanying time lines will doubtless prove useful to her as well as the rest of us. When they were briefed both John McCain and Jane Harman expressed their objections to enhanced interrogation techniques. Nancy Pelosi, however, seems to have used her time on the Intelligence Committee as an opportunity to catch up on some sleep. In the meantime, her four different versions of what she was told about enhanced interrogations stretches our credulity tighter than the skin on her face and anyone who has seen her on television recently will realize just how tightly that skin is really stretched. Perhaps if she was subjected to some enhanced interrogation herself it might jog her recollection of events. Her memory was not so poor, however, as to be able to accuse the CIA of misleading the Congress of the United States. This was vicious, extremely unwise, and also dangerous. Surprisingly, the uninspiring and woebegone Leon Panetta sprang to the defense of the now demoralized agency he leads from behind and released memos contradicting Mrs. Pelosi’s accusations.
